I wanted to password protect my Gallery app on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone. I tried AppLock from Google Play. It is easy to use. I love it. I got the premium version with no ads.

I'm not sure I understand. Why password protect an app if you can just lock the phone as a whole?

If someone I am with needs to use my phone and I have to leave to evacuate some hazardous waste, I don't want them to go through my personal stuff. With this app I choose what apps I want to password protect. I have chosen my e-mail, gallery, and Amazon Prime Photos.

I can see the sense in the app but probably won't get it as my only mobile is a tablet that is used mostly just for reading. In essence it seems that this app could be seen as almost like setting up a limited user on a PC where access to specific areas is restricted yet the basic system is still usable.

I can see that if you share your phone with others. Something I don't do. Or if I do I'm standing there waiting for it's return. I worry more about the phone walking away.
