It is kind of funny how the mind meld turned in to a fairly normal safe procedure considering that the first time it was used Spok stated that there was considerable risk in it's useage.

Yes, there were all sorts of changes that occurred. Take the pilot where Spock is very emotional, almost barbaric.

I love Star Trek TOS and a few Christmas's ago, my daughter bought me an entire collection of the series on DVD. I liked a bit of the next generation, but to me it seemed rather slow compared to the original series. Not the same sort of action.

I enjoyed all the Star Trek series. In Voyager, Seven of Nine used to make my toe nails curl up, she was magificent.

Ha! Indeed - until they started to psychoanalyze her. They seem to ruin most long-running TV series that way nowadays. I loved the first season of Voyager - but couldn't stand to watch it after that. Love the original series, loved Next Generation. Never could warm up to Deep Space Nine. Mixed feelings on Voyager. The last, Enterprise... well, it just didn't seem like Star Trek anymore.

By the way, big fan of Mahler as well, though I'm not sure he was the world's finest. ;) Certainly one of the finest. Beethoven was the great innovator. There would not be a Gustav Mahler, or a Wagner, were it not for Beethoven. Which doesn't mean that Beethoven's music is what I like to listen to most!
