Finally got a chance to play with Vivaldi, the new browser created by the original Opera engineers. Like it a lot, not using it as my default, at least not yet. Since it uses the Chrome engine I was able to install the Chrome adKiller, worked perfectly. But I have a question of curiosity.
How are these companies able to give us these incredible programs for free? Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, etc. Thousands of hours of programing and engineering go into creating these products, not counting the continued work to keep them updated and competitive. Heck, when I first used Opera, many years ago, I had to pay $40 for it, now it is free. How are these companies able to stay afloat?
Thanks, inquiring minds want to know, Acadia
