I have a question for anyone who can give me a straight answer because I have spoke to different people at Best Buy and other computer repair stores about this. They did not give me a straight answer so here is what I am planning to do with my second SSD drive? My question is that Do I need just a SATA cable on SATA port for the SSD drive and motherboard? or Do I need a SATA power adapter ( 15-pin ) and SATA cable for the second SSD drive? I do have extra 15-pin SATA power adapter inside my desktop. Let me know which one do I need the top or bottom of two questions that I ask. Thank you, John |

You will need power adapter for the drive and cable to attach it to the motherboard. So yes you need both. Assuming it is a plain old SSD drive. |

Thank you and now I know the second question is the one. I was surprised to see the tech support at Best Buy told me the first question and said that I don't need the power adapter to the motherboard with the cable. I did explain to him carefully and show him the diagram that I draw so he can see but still give me the wrong answer. Anyway I will add the second SSD drive on my desktop with the power adapter and cable later this evening. John |
